g'day mates!

welcome to my australian blog... i figured that since both the london blog and the punta cana blog were such great hits, i would continue on the tradition of relating my ever so eventful travel stories via the world wide web. look at it this way, this is me you are dealing with here. i'm the chick who was adopted by a flock of gay guys and developed an obsession with muffins in london and was attacked by a school of fish trying to eat my swimming suit in the dominican republic... oh yeah dont forget that pesky little hurricane too...

do you really think im going to be able to spend 3 weeks on the other side of the world with out having something amusing along those lines happen to me? im sure you will likely be reading stories of me doing face plants while im learning to surf or getting bit by a koala im trying to cuddle for a picture. seriously, its me. its bound to happen. and based on past blogging adventures as well, it is about 75% likely that at some point during the 3 weeks, something will drive me to tears. i wonder if they have the wonderfully comforting smarties mcflurries in australia too? it is a british crown colony...

anyway, not much to say at the moment really other than to point out a few things. this time, i went really high tech and i have music with my blog. as you should well know by now, this song playing is the song that i try to live my life by. if you happen to hate country music or find the endlessly looping song to be quite annoying, just hit pause. seeing as how im "sharp as a tack" (according to a source) i was smart enough to realize why the buttons weren't showing up like they should have and i put them back.

the other thing to point out that i just realized that i did is the posting time settings. i guess i set it to australian time so when i am posting things it will be accurate to me. dont try to hurt yourself figuring out how it is only wednesday and you are already reading about what i have done on thursday - even though thursday hasnt happened for you yet. im really excited to figure out how im going to handle loosing an entire day of my life flying down there... a day goes missing and this time it isnt alcohol realted. how strange!

catch this too. i know there is a ton of linkage on the side. i just happened to think that the places i would be going were too amazing (with the exception of the unimpressive comfort in in rockhampton) to not share with everyone. plus you have links about cities im visiting, activities i hope to squeeze in and then there is my personal favorite the "random links" section. this is the one i had fun with. i built a really cool world clock that has sydney (my location) standard times and then the time of any city anywhere else that i know someone in, so you will never have to get out the map and count on your fingers how many hours a head i am of you. the aussie slang site is pretty fun too.

you're going to have to settle for this because at this point in time, i have no time available to allocate to any further adjustments or additions of this blog. it should be sufficient the way it is.

as always, holler if you need anything. i have a free voice messaging service for anyone who feel sthe compulsion to call and tell me a story (like how much yale liked you) or tell me how jealous you are. seriously, if you want to just call and ramble on about how you were doing laundry and a red sock accidentally fell in with your whites, you can do that too. just keep it to the point. you can leave messages for free and make them as long as you want. on teh other hand, i might hvae to sell a kidney to be able to listen to them if they are too long. the instructions for calling and leaving a message are pretty simple and are located right underneath the two links to use when emailing me. oh and there are two links to email me. the first is my regular email address. that works fine. the only difference on teh second one is that i can actually listen to teh emails automated over the phone. im not a big fan because half the time icant understand the automation and it also takes money from my card to listen to them. id rather reserve the money for calling home to ask for really big bandaids becuase i fell in a gigantic hole i the sidewalk while walking and talking and not looking where i was going.

any questions drop me a line either before i leave or after i leave. im not sure what my internet access wil be like, but im hoping to be able to post either every other day minimum and maybe even get some pictures up on the internet for you to see even before i make it home.

crikey, tis late and i need sleep...
